3 Things You Need To Do Before Your Breast Augmentation

by Chester Williams

For many women, a breast augmentation can help them achieved their desired aesthetic, greatly improving their self-confidence. Breast augmentation surgery does require a bit of downtime; depending on your exact procedure, it may take you two to three weeks to recover. Before your surgery, make sure to complete the following tasks so that you can focus on letting your body heal.

1. Recruit Help for the Day of Your Surgery

It is important to recruit an extra set of hands for the day of your breast augmentation. You will need someone to take you home after your procedure and help you get settled. If you haven't filled your prescriptions before your procedure, someone will need to go pick them up for you, as you will not be able to drive for a couple of weeks after your surgery.

Don't forget about food! Make sure that you have some easy-to-prepare meals on hand and stock up on quick, nutritious snacks. If loved ones offer to bring food after your procedure, take them up on their offers.

2. Figure Out Your Sleeping Situation

Most patients find that they are more comfortable sleeping upright for a couple of weeks after their surgery. Maintaining an upright position keeps pressure off the chest and helps control pain levels. If you have a recliner, this is the perfect place to recuperate. Outfit it with a few pillows and blankets to ensure you are comfortable.

If you don't have a recliner, another option is to purchase a wedge pillow for your bed. A wedge pillow offers a steep level of incline that is similar to sitting upright.

3. Fill Out the Necessary Paperwork for Your Time Off Work

The length of time that you need to take off work varies based on your position. If you work a desk job, you may be able to return to work within a week or so. For more physical jobs, expect to take two to three weeks off. Light duty may be an option if you wish to return to work sooner.

Regardless of how much time you need to take off work, it is essential to fill out the required paperwork for your leave ahead of time to see that your job is protected. You may need to get your surgeon to fill out your forms so that you have medical proof of your need for time off work. Don't wait until the day of your procedure to drop off your paperwork. Instead, ask your surgeon's office what its time frame is for filling out medical forms. Some may require a couple week's notice to ensure the forms are completed on-time.

About Me

Updating Your Look

A few months ago, I realized that I wanted to look a little bit younger. I got a job as a marketing representative, so I found myself traveling from place to place to sell our company's products and services. However, my older look seemed to be holding me back from communicating effectively with the younger crowd. To correct this problem, I started investigating plastic surgery, and I was really impressed with how many procedures were out there that could improve my appearance. I was able to completely overhaul my look by going through and undergoing a few procedures, and now I feel great. This blog is all about updating your look with plastic surgery.
