Considering A Chemical Peel? What To Know

by Chester Williams

Chemical peels are a great way to improve the appearance of your skin. With chemical peels, a solution is added to the skin that exfoliates it and causes it to peel off. Peels are available in varying strengths and can be used to improve the appearance of your face, hands, or neck. Peels can treat wrinkles, skin discoloration, and even scarring. However, before you decide to get a peel, there are a few things that you should be aware of. Here are the three things that you should know about this treatment.

Types of Peels

The first thing that you should know is that there are different types of chemical peel treatments available. There are three main types of peels to choose from. Superficial peels are a great option if you are looking for gentle exfoliation. These peels use mild acids and only penetrate the outermost layers of the skin. Medium peels penetrate the outer and middle layers of skin and can remove damaged skin cells. For the most aggressive results, deep peels are the best option. These peels fully penetrate the middle layers of your skin and offer the most dramatic changes.

The Cost

When it comes to chemical peels, costs can vary significantly depending on the results you are looking for and the strength of the peel. On average chemical peels range in price between $600 to $900. For superficial peels, costs typically range between $150 and $300. Superficial peels can smooth skin and reduce roughness. Medium chemical peels typically range in cost between $1,000 and $2,000 and can address fine lines and correct uneven skin tone. Deep peels cost between $2,500 and $6,000 and offer dramatic results. The results are long lasting but these peels typically require a long recovery period and are performed under anesthesia.

Recovery Time

Recovery time varies depending on various factors. The strength of the peel will play the largest role in how long recovery takes. Recovery after a superficial peel typically takes one to seven days. It takes a little longer to heal from a medium chemical peel. The recovery time for this type of peel is typically seven to 14 days but redness can last for a few weeks. Deep peels take the longest to recover from. The recovery process typically takes a few weeks and redness can last for months.

When it comes to chemical peels, there are a few things that you should keep in mind. First, there are varying strengths of chemical peels. The one that works best for you will depend on the results you desire and your budget. Costs can vary but most peels range between $600 and $900. Recovery time can also vary from a few days to a few weeks depending on the strength of the chemical peel.

About Me

Updating Your Look

A few months ago, I realized that I wanted to look a little bit younger. I got a job as a marketing representative, so I found myself traveling from place to place to sell our company's products and services. However, my older look seemed to be holding me back from communicating effectively with the younger crowd. To correct this problem, I started investigating plastic surgery, and I was really impressed with how many procedures were out there that could improve my appearance. I was able to completely overhaul my look by going through and undergoing a few procedures, and now I feel great. This blog is all about updating your look with plastic surgery.
